I'm not sure, but whatever you do order, be prepared to wait an eternity. If you had grandparents when you went in, they're probably not going to make it by the time you're done.

A home away from home vibe. When visiting Dunsmuir, this was our favorite spot for daily breakfast. Views of the forest through the tall windows, plenty of natural light and rustic wood and brick interior. Lots of games to check out for free but some are for rent. Staff was welcoming, helpful and friendly.Coffee was nice and strong. Food was not greasy like most cafes. The house made sausage was delicious. Great hearty way to fuel up before a full day of outdoors.
Delicious food, great staff! Worth a visit for sure.
So good. There are only a few of vegan options, but they are GOOD! It's a warm, welcoming spot. Service was great. They have a nice selection of beers on tap, plenty of board games, and awesome art.
Good food, good location, friendly people. And the place has a viewport to the stream that runs under the building.
Fun, high quality menu. I prefer Paleo, so they were able to switch out my toast for extra veggies. I love the ambience! So much good art! And the games! They have a serious game collection for customers to play.
Outstanding place to sip, eat, work, or play. Great people. Spacious dining area with all the frills. One meal, and you'll know the Wi-Fi password is an understatement.
Visited a bakery in that area, purchased cinnamon buns for the local school's Fall Fair cake run contest. The buns were looking delicious and tempting, so good luck to the person that wins! Thank you local bakery, hopefully you know who you are
Best corned beef hash I have ever had!... super cool people and atmosphere!
One-of-kind, 'hole-in-the-wall'. Board games galore to rent. Unique and memorable atmosphere coupled with excellent (albeit a tad expensive) eats. Bringing the kids and grands someday for sure!
Awesome place. Lots of fun and the coffee is great. Definitely going back.
Tasty food, a wide selection of drinks, friendly staff, and a ton of card/dice/board games for customers to play. A bit on the pricey side, but great for gamers and families.
Surely a place worth stopping over, the food is excellent and well prepared, the costs are reasonable and it is consistently neat there. Kudos.
Outstanding home made pancake batter, best corned beef hash I've had in a long time, really cool under ground river in the restaurant.
Would certainly recommend eating here. Fantastic atmosphere, flavorful dishes, fantastic service. 5 stars.
The Wheelhouse is a nice and cozy place in Dunsmuir that we visited for brunch. The setting is very nice and the food was tasty and freshly prepared. I tried The Main-Line and my wife built her own breakfast sandwich. Both were delicious although we found the croissant a bit too rich. We also enjoyed their pancakes.
Great place for food. Friendly staff. They have gluten free options,( had the gluten free bread wonderful). We even had a yeti join us for breakfast. And they have a glass plate in the floor so you can see the water flow that the building was built over. Cool
Board games with your meal! What an awesome business model. They have a better selection of games than even most game stores. Small food menu, but tasty. Some of the produce comes from local farms. Many vegetarian options and a few vegan ones for lunch/dinner. Breakfast can be modified to be vegan (quinoa instead of eggs).
Good American food, great atmosphere and friendly service. Comfortable seating area inside and outside. Clean and comfy bathroom. Definitely a hidden gem and worth pulling off the freeway.
I got the BLT and fries...both good, fries hand cut and crispy. Tried the buckwheat pancakes and they were so good, never had that before.
First of all the building has the sign "Brown Trout" across the front of the building. I was a little confused about the real name of the restaurant. The menu was straight forward, breakfast and a whole lot more. We ordered at the counter and the meals were delivered to our table. There were three of us in our party and one person had eaten half of her meal before two of us received our meal. We enjoyed our meals. The interesting thing about the restaurant is that it has games that you can rent and play. There are even free games you can play. There are large tables for this purpose. There are two rooms to this restaurant. I enjoyed the environment and my visit.
I came to the Wheelhouse to run a giant board game event for Gigamic (the #gigatour). This place is amazing. Charming mill town feel, lovely brick and wood interior. The stream running underneath that you can observe through the glass floor is a touch of magic.i had a latte and the buffalo chicken sandwich with side salad. The buffalo chicken is grilled, not deep fried and was very flavorful and moist in the center of a warm crunchy ciabatta! The salad was excellent too, a night light dill ranch dressing. Hoping I can come back!!!!
A really warm and welcoming place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Also good for grabbing coffee/tea and small bites like in a cafe. They have an excellent collection of board games, and the food is great. I will especially recommend their pancakes and their bacon...
Very yummy for and drinks. They have a huge selection of games to use while in the restaurant. They also have a section of flooring that is glass where you can see the river that runs under the building.
Great place for breakfast. We wanted to stay even longer if there was no plan after that :)
Very amazing food! Their breakfast burritos are one of the best in town even compared to most of the choices in Mount Shasta. They also have one of the best burger choices around here (Railroad Sliders)
Excellent food with the friendliest service. Also love their kombucha on tap! Dog-friendly seating out front.
Hands down the best BLT...EVER...AND YES it was the vegean...!! KEEP rolling Wheelhouse!!!
Love this place! The mood is always homey and welcoming, the food and coffee are top notch, and the staff are as friendly as any staff anywhere! Try the local beers, and Trivia nights (Fridays) are always fun!We have two Airbnb homes in town. The Wheelhouse is an easy recommendation to all our guests!Did I mention I love this place?
Neat little place. Plenty of games to play. Foods a but pricey and drinks too, but the fun to be had here if you like games with friends is wonderful.
Great selection of coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. Staff is all very friendly. Outdoor seating might be a little limited during a rush, but we had it all to ourselves when we stopped by for a mid-afternoon snack. 10/10 would recommend
Loved the food! Great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Great breakfast and coffee spot right across from dunsmuirs historic turn table. Highly recommend it for breakfast.
The wheelhouse is a tad pricy BUT, that becomes an afterthought after experiencing the great service, great food, and great view at their designated outdoor sitting.
Oh my gosh full of games n fun. Food and a whole place to play when it snows too much.
EDIT: the menu I mentioned in this review is no longer available. The main offering at this restaurant now is cheesesteak, and all orders are takeaway. The bakery next door is closed. “The French Toast! Also, the corned beef hash. Fried morels in May. Fresh baked bread from bakery next door. Perfect brunch.”
I was driving from Portland to Bay area and was staying at dunsmuir, came here for morning breakfast. This place is really soothing and feels like staying there forever. Food was of really good quality and coffee was excellent too. They have hell lot of board games which you can play if you are going with your friends
Perfect place to stop in Dunsmuir for coffee, breakfast or lunch and to hang out.
I really like the locally sourced food. So for me... it had too much meat and would have liked a second piece of sourdough toast.
The food and drinks are amazing! The atmosphere is gorgeous as well. I highly recommend this place!
We've loved previous incarnations at this lovely, historic location a few blocks from our Dunsmuir vacation rental, but The Wheelhouse tops all. Superb, high quality food with emphasis on fresh, made locally and inventive offerings make this place a competitor with Cafe Maddalena nearby and that is really saying something. Both are fantastic. I do wish The Wheelhouse was warmer in winter but it has high ceilings and is hard and expensive to heat, so bundle up if it's cold outside. That is the only ding on the place. We were reminded to try it again after guests ate our Alpine Fish & Ski Haus followed our suggestion for them to try it and they reported back they LOVED IT. Don't miss their Reuben if you are a fan of this sandwich. It is spectacular.
Good food good service
Stopped in for breakfast while passing through town. We both had the French toast, which was awesome! It was definitely more like a dessert, but we didn't mind. The decor is very eclectic with a lot of stuff to look at. It is a bit confusing when you walk in since there really aren't any signs telling you to order at the counter then go sit. Would try again.
I always look forward to stopping here when I'm passing by Dunsmuir. The sandwiches are yummy and the service is personable and cheerful. Interesting decor in a homey environment.
